METAL TYPE
FOR HOT FOIL STAMPING
Our Metal Type is an economical solution for Hot Foil Stamping onto substrates such as leather, paper, card, vinyl etc.
Hot Foil Type or Letters are available as a complete set consisting of Capital Letters, Lowercase Letters, Numbers and Punctuations or simply Capitals or Lowercase on their own.
Capital letters are mostly used for stamping initials onto leather goods.
Please note that Metal Letters are not as deep etched as Brass Letters. Metal type is designed for a print on the surface of the material and are not suited to make a debossed imprint.
Max temperature should not exceed 120°C for economy type otherwise letters can melt!
Furthermore, please switch off machine from wall socket when not in use and never leave it switched on unattended. Keep away from children and warn others when the machine is hot! The machine can remain very hot for quite some time even after it has been switched off! Economy Type should be removed from the machine when not in use.
Brass letters are the preferred option when stamping onto extra soft surfaces in order to avoid misprints or 'filling in'.

NOTES:-
Metal Type is Cast to the Anglo-American standard depth of 23.31mm (0.918"). The printing height of letters is determined by the point size you select.
The quantity of each letter / character you will receive in a set of type will depend on the point (pt) size of the letters as can be shown below.

The Capital 'A' after a number above refers to the Capital Letters scheme and the Lowercase 'a' after the number refers to Lowercase Letters casting scheme, you can learn more on what each pack includes when referring to the relevant column shown in the image:
Quads & Spacers
In addition to choosing type, you will also require suitable size 'Slip Cases' to hold letters in a straight line inside the machine as we as 'Quads & Spacers'.

Brass Type
If you are looking to print onto soft leather, then you may benefit from deeper etched brass type which we also supply, made to order.
